Jack and Rachelle's Wedding 07-07-07

  • Bbb
It is SUCH a pleasure to photograph a wedding when the bride and the groom are both crazy about each other. I think you can tell what a great couple they are from the photographs. It was so much fun! Their wedding was at Christ the King in Atlanta and the reception was at Anthony's. Everything was just beautiful.

war of the worlds...

Looneymarvinthemartian_2So I'm listening to talk radio the other day and the guy is talking about how we have to get a handle on the illegal alien issue.  My son is sitting beside me, he gets up on his knees, leans over to whisper in my ear with a sort of worried tone "he's just joking right?"  It takes me about 3.5 seconds to realize why he is asking me that.  He doesn't know what illegal means but he does know what ALIENS are...LOL! He thought the alien invasion was from space.  Everyday he reminds me that he is so observant and takes it all in...and that's a scary thought.

Finished with the June birthdays.

Dsc_0105I think I have all of the birthdays in June covered now. Any guess who this card is for? LOL!

The frog and the fish!

ImgSo my five year old son wrote and illustrated a twelve page booklet yesterday with the promise of more to come.   The photo shows the cover with the title of the book being "the fish and the frog"

Here is the story-
One Day, the frog went out to find some breakfast and he got a fly.  The fly pulled him across the pond.  All of the sudden the fly let go.  Now the frog had some other friends, a fish with two eyes on his side and a catfish named Tom, also an eel named Electric.

Then the fish drank some wine.  There was a cord that went from the lily pad to the bottom of the pond,  and also a straw going from the wine to the fish.   And then the fish thought we was eating on a plant but it was really the frog's toe.  The frog poked his head into the water and said "who are you?" The fish said "I'm swimmer" and the frog said "I'm hopper!" and they became friends.

The frog pulled out a remote controlled fish and put it in the water to trick Swimmer but Swimmer never showed up and the frog got sad.  Swimmer thought the fish was an alien.  Robo-fish said go to the other side of the pond and there will be a "BIG SURPRISE" Turns out, it was just Hopper up to his old tricks.  It was really Robo-fish all along.

A blue jay was about to zoom down and get a fish (Swimmer) but Frogger jumped on his skateboard and zoomed to the tool shed and got an old rusty bucket and filled it with water and threw it at the bird.  The bird said "I'll get you for this Hopper"

Next, a toucan, the other fish and all of his other friends watched him go after a seagull.  They were all chasing the seagull- the seagull said- Aww! I just wanted some sushi" and said "I'll get you for this HOPPER!!"

After that, a pelican swept down and got the fish.  Hopper jumped on a scooter and almost crashed.  Then he said "How do you work this thing?"

Then Hopper yelled for his daddy.  Hopper and his dad ties a rope to the pelican and tugged on the rope.  The pelican was sweating real bad.  The frog goes back to the tool shed and gets a radio, busted it up and got the antenna off and tied it to the rope.  Then they sent a shock up the rope that shocked the pelican and made him let go of the fish.  The pelican promised never to catch Swimmer again.

The adventures of Hopper and Swimmer will continue...watch for them soon.

THE END!

I don't know about y'all, but I'm impressed.

"The cool kids have the built in sharpener!"

Dsc_0110 Yesterday we ran around doing errands together- the library, the bank, the post office, Target, Video store (to get Reno 911 for my hubby), Michaels (picked up Jennifer McGuire's new book woo hoo!)  Staples, Kroger and finally home.  We had fun hanging out together and we even got caught in a rain shower or two.  We huddled together under the umbrella and ran in and out of the various places.  My oh so cute son said "looks like God is washing cars today!"

While we were at Target- my son requested a new box of crayons, so we wandered over to the craft aisle.  Of course there were the off name crayons and there were small boxes of crayons but no! I wanted my son to have the best- the mack daddy box of Crayola crayons!  You know the ones... with the built in sharpener in the back.  I clearly impressed him with my knowledge of what the cool kids had.  When we got to the car, he immediately wanted to hold his new pristine, unopened, unbroken, all nice and sharp box of crayons for the short ride home.  When we got home he took the crayons and dumped them all out on the bed.  EEK!! I had to let him know this was a no no- you just don't undo the nice, colorful order that Crayola people had carefully chosen to display these perfect crayons.  Oh well- as I put them back in the box I told him his dad had these kind of crayons when he was a kid and how proud he was of them- "you have to take good care of them".  My son asked "did you have this kind when you were a kid?" "Oh No!" I said "I had the small junkie kind- I wasn't able to get the kind you have- those were only for the cool kids."  He thought for a second and said "Well, did Daddy let you play with his?" I chuckled and said "yes- he was so sweet and he shared his crayons with me"

Sometimes it's just fun messing with your kid.

My Crazy Friend Jane

This card is for my crazy friend Jane.  She is amazing.  I think I got the inspiration from nicole heady's blog.  I can't seem to keep them all straight.  One blog leads to another and they are all awesome designers.Dsc_0006

Happy Father's Day

Dsc_0087My son picked out the papers and the stickers for his Father's Day card for his dad.  We had a fun time putting them all together to make this card.  He couldn't wait to give it to him this morning with breakfast in bed.

A special visitor

Dsc_0181copyThis is my niece- she is visiting us for a few days.  We took her to the beach and she was willing to pose a little for me.  She looks like my brother whom I miss very much.

SO many birthdays in June!

Seems all my friends are Gemini.  This is for Jenipher- she was may matron of honor at my wedding.  I have been using my Marvy Uchida scalloped oval punch a bunch lately.  I have really gotten inspired by all of the samples I have been finding over at the A MUSE website and blogs of the designers.

My favorite photo of the day

Dsc_0032_copyThis is my son- who is saying "I dunno" with his expression.  He is an amazing person, whom I am absolutely crazy about.  I recently asked him "what color is a hug?" because I had read a post on Two Peas about journaling your child's answers to such questions.  He looked at me like I was an idiot.  He said- "nothing? blanco? I dunno! " After a moment of thinking about it- he said "orange, duh, cause I have on an orange shirt"

You just never know what he is going to say next.
